All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship Reports

Expected Family Contribution (EFC)

The All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship (AIOS) is a state scholarship program established prior to the 2007-08 academic year (Fiscal Year 2008). The AIOS provides scholarships to students with financial need who do well in high school. The chart shows the maximum Expected Family Contribution (EFC) for AIOS recipients. (The EFC is a measure of a student's/family's ability to pay for education; it is the amount a student/family can be expected to contribute towards college costs as determined from information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The lower a student's/family's EFC, the greater the student's/family's need for financial aid.)
