Iowa Tuition Grant Reports

Expected Family Contribution (EFC)

The Iowa Tuition Grant (ITG) is a state grant program established in 1969. The program provides need-based grants to assist students who attend private postsecondary institutions in Iowa. The chart shows the maximum Expected Family Contribution (EFC) for ITG recipients. Maximum EFCs are set administratively, based on program funding. (The EFC is a measure of a student's/family's ability to pay for education; it is the amount a student/family can be expected to contribute towards college costs as determined from information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The lower a student's EFC, the greater the student's/family's need for financial aid.)
