Course to College Registration

Please complete and submit this form to register your high school to participate in Course to College, formerly known as the 3-Step Process. Course to College is Iowa College Aid's school-based, college access program that includes:

  • Early College Awareness (Resources available Fall, 2017)
  • Iowa College Application Campaign in October, 2017;
  • Iowa FAFSA Completion Initiative beginning October, 2017 through high school graduation; and
  • Iowa College Decision Day on or around May 1, 2018.
  • Summer Transition (Resources available Spring, 2018)

Each component corresponds with an important college-going step that must be taken by college-bound students: research colleges and careers, apply for college, file for financial aid, decide on a college and show up on campus in the fall!

Iowa College Aid will work with the contact prior to the initiatives to ensure that all required information is complete.

:
Iowa FAFSA Completion Initiative

Through the FAFSA Completion Initiative, Iowa College Aid is able to share student-specific FAFSA completion information with participating school districts and high schools. This information can help educators to better track their students’ FAFSA completion progress and provide student-specific FAFSA completion assistance. 2018 graduating seniors who intend to begin college in the fall of 2018 should complete a 2018-19 FAFSA, available on or after October 1, 2017.

School districts that are interested in participating in the Iowa FAFSA Completion Initiative must complete and return a Data Sharing Agreement to Iowa College Aid, and then will be given access to the Iowa College Aid Processing System (ICAPS™). The data sharing agreement can be downloaded here. Data Sharing Agreements should be signed by the high school principal or district superintendent for multi-high school districts, or program or agency directors of local education agencies, TRIO and GEAR UP programs or other designated entities.

Once completed, you may email it to ashley.mckenna@iowa.gov or mail to

Iowa College Decision Day

College Decision Day is an opportunity to recognize high school seniors for their future plans after high school, whether it be a 2-year or 4-year college, the military or an apprenticeship. It is also a time to encourage the college aspirations of underclassmen. College Decision Day is held on or around May 1 to coincide with the date most seniors must inform a college of their plans to enroll.
