Child Care Assistance

Child Care Assistance (CCA) is available to the children of income-eligible parents who are absent for a portion of the day due to employment or participation in academic or vocational training. For more information, visit Iowa DHS' website here.

GAP Tuition Assistance Program

This program was established to provide funding to community colleges for need-based tuition assistance to applicants to enable completion of continuing education certificate training programs for in-demand occupations


The PROMISE JOBS program provides work and training services to Family Investment Program (FIP) participants. FIP is Iowa’s Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program. PROMISE JOBS services may include but are not limited to: assessment, job readiness and job-seeking skills training, employment, basic education (high school completion, GED, and ESL), post-secondary education (short-term training and AA, BA, and BS programs), work experience, community service, Family Development and Self-Sufficiency (FaDSS) program participation and other family development services, and parenting skills training.
