Applying to College

Applying to colleges will be less stressful if you are prepared. Follow these helpful guidelines:

Know what to expect
You should find out the application requirements for each college before you apply. Some colleges may require essays, personal interviews, or letters of recommendation. Know in advance so you have plenty of time to prepare.

Know the deadline
Each college may have different admission application deadlines. Start preparing your application early so that you aren't rushed.

Be prepared

Be complete
Make sure you follow all directions and have someone proofread your application materials.

Apply online
Colleges often offer online admission applications and may waive the application fee if you apply online. Know your options.

Choose wisely
Make sure you apply to at least one school where you know you can get accepted. Don't send applications to too many schools. The application fees can get expensive and the process can wear you out! Apply to the schools you really want to attend.
