Required documents to file your FAFSA:

  • Social Security Number (student and parent)
  • Drivers License Number (student)
  • Most recent Federal income tax returns (student and parent)
  • W-2 Forms or records of money earned (student and parent)
  • Record of untaxed income benefits (student and parent)
  • Bank statements and records of other investments such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds (student and parent)
  • PIN (helpful, but not required)
TIP: You will need your PIN number to Renew your FAFSA online. If you do not have your PIN, apply or request a duplicate at www.pin.ed.gov. Your PIN also can be used to sign your online FAFSA application electronically, make corrections to a submitted FAFSA, and to access your U.S. Department of Education records online. Your parent will need a PIN to sign your application electronically as well.
