Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) is based on financial need as determined by the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and may be used at most colleges or universities. Students with exceptional financial need who are eligible for Pell Grants are given priority. Awards range from $100 and $4,000.

Eligibility criteria:
Complete and submit the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 each year.
- U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident. Other limited categories of non-citizens may be eligible
- Must not be in default on a federal student loan
- Demonstrate financial need and be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant
- Undergraduate student who has not earned a bachelor's degree
Complete and submit the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 each year.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Iowa Financial Aid Application to apply for federal and state financial aid.
