Iowa College Aid partnered with EverFi, Inc., the leader in education technology platforms, to provide Buttonwood™, a web-based personal financial and student loan management platform for college students. At a time when Iowa's college students graduate with some of the highest student loan debt in the nation, Buttonwood™ will help build the skills necessary to make responsible financial and student loan decisions that lead to completing degree programs and securing gainful employment.
Overview
Buttonwood™ addresses over 600 key financial concepts through seven modules, focusing on financial aid and student loan default prevention. The Buttonwood™ platform includes a compressed and sophisticated new media presentation of financial concepts, complemented by an interactive game simulation that is personalized for each user.
College students can access Buttonwood from www.IHaveAPlanIowa.gov.

Real-Life Simulations
Students apply their learning in virtual environments which directly reflect real-life situations. Variables, such as enrollment status, marital status, debt level and more are taken into consideration by the system when customizing the user's experience.
