When researching colleges outside of Iowa, be sure to ask if the college you are interested in attending offers a reduced tuition rate for residents of Iowa. Many schools in adjacent states offer a discount to out-of-state students from neighboring communities.

Some examples include:
University of Nebraska - Omaha - Metropolitan Advantage Program
University of South Dakota - Adjacent States Tuition Policy
University of Wisconsin - Platteville - Tri-State Initiative
While these programs may reduce the tuition paid at out-of-state institutions, it is important to remember that only Iowa residents attending eligible Iowa colleges and universities are eligible to receive State of Iowa scholarship and grant programs.
