The Winter Dance Party Scholarship
The Winter Dance Party Scholarship, which commemorates the life and contributions of J.P. Richardson, Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly, Roger Peterson, and Darrel Hein, awards $500 to a graduating Iowa high school student who will be enrolling in a college as a music major.

Eligibility criteria include:

- Complete and submit this application
- Be enrolling in a college as a music major
- Be a graduating senior of an Iowa high school
- Submit documentation of cumulative Grade Point Average
- Submit a one-page essay entitled "Why I Have Chosen To Major In Music."
