T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Iowa Scholarship

T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Iowa provides scholarships to child care teachers, directors, and child development home providers so they can earn a degree in early childhood education while remaining in a job in early childhood.
Each T.E.A.C.H. contract is built on four primary components:

  • Education by helping scholarship recipients complete college credit coursework.
  • Counseling and financial support for tuition, books, travel costs, and release time away from work.
  • Compensation (raise or bonus) after the successful completion of each year of education.
  • Commitment to the current child care program, to reduce the turnover in the early childhood field.
Eligibility criteria:

  • Work in a regulated preschool, child care center, or home program for at least 30 hours per week (or full-time for the hours your preschool offers programming)
  • Have worked with children birth to age 5, in your current program, for at least 3 months
  • Be working toward or planning to work toward an early childhood degree, credential, or endorsement program at an Iowa college
  • Have the support of your employer (if applicable)
