The Leo H. Grether Memorial Scholarship in Choral Music Education provides a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating Iowa high school student who is enrolling in college as a vocal music major.
The Leo H. Grether Memorial Scholarship in Choral Music Education provides a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating Iowa high school student who is enrolling in college as a vocal music major.
Eligibility criteria include:
To apply or to learn more about the program, go to the Iowa High School Music Association website.
- Be a citizen of the State of Iowa
- Be a graduating senior
- Enrolling in college as a vocal music major
- Submit a tape containing two selections of a contrasting nature
- Submit a listing of school music participation and accomplishments
- Provide a letter listing music involvement in church and/or community cosigned by the pastor or civic leader
- Submit a one-page essay entitled, "Why I Have Chosen Choral Music Education As A Career."
